Tolani Maritime Institute Eligibility Criteria for 2024

For B.Tech in Maritime Engineering and B.Sc in Nautical Science

• Age: Male candidates born on or after 1st September 2001 are eligible to apply for the 2023 batch. In accordance with Government of India guidelines, there is two-year age relaxation for female candidates, and girls born on or after 1st September 1999 are eligible to apply for the 2023 batch.
• Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates will be considered. 
• Academic Qualification: Candidates must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with: At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (P C M) At least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII
• Physical Fitness: The Institute has laid down detailed minimum physical fitness and medical standards. The candidate has to meet these standards to qualify for admission. You are advised to have yourself medically examined by competent doctors before applying. This will ensure that you meet the minimum requirements, which in turn will avoid disappointment at a later stage. Candidates for the B.Sc in Nautical Technology program must have 6/6 vision in both eyes.

For Diploma in Nautical Science

• Age: 25 years
• Academic Qualification: Candidates must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with: At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (P C M). At least 50% marks in English either in 10th or 12th standard Shipping companies prefer candidates with PCM and 70% marks on the first attempt.
• Physical Fitness: To be declared fit for selection, a candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties, as per the medical standards laid down by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India. Candidates for DNS (IMU) program must have 6/6 vision in both eyes or 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other eye. Color blindness is not permitted. Medical fitness has to be certified by DG Shipping-approved company doctors.

For ETO Course

• Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks and English with a minimum of 50% marks. Passed four-year degree with 60% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering only. Minimum 6 months of industrial experience is preferred. The degree courses must have been recognized by any State or Central Government or the AICTE and conducted in English.
• Age & Medical Fitness: Not more than 28 years on the date of commencement of training and medically fit including eyesight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000; as amended from time to time.

For M.Sc in Marine Engineering and Technical Ship Management

4 years of B.Tech in Marine Engineering or BTech in Nautical Technology with a minimum of 60% average, or

B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering with a minimum of 60% average, or

B.Tech/B.E in Naval Architecture with a minimum of 60% average, or

3 years of diploma/college degree as Deck or Engine Room Officer or B.Sc in Nautical Science with a minimum of 60% average plus Class I Certificate of Competency as Master or Chief Engineer

English language requirement is IELTS 6.5 (no element below 5.5) or equivalent

Tolani Maritime Institute Application Process 2023
